Bringing together a crack panel of hospo greats and covering everything from mistakes and masks to money and smashed-up burgers, episode two of Hot Takes and Takeaways didn’t disappoint. 

Australia’s hospitality industry has come out of lockdown like a bullet out of a gun. It’s fast, frenetic, and if the lines streaming down the pavement are anything to go by, people are thoroughly enjoying themselves. But as the world gets used to eating and dining out again, there continue to be myriad problems plaguing the business side of food.

Be it marketing, mask-wearing or the exorbitant price of pot washers, there’s a lot to talk about in hospitality today. On Monday, November 29 comedian Gen Fricker hosted episode two of Hot Takes & Takeaways, in partnership with Concrete Playground and Uber Eats, on Facebook. Guests included Jeremey Blackmore, owner of venues Cantina Ok, Tio’s Cerveceria, The Cliff Dive, Kobi Morris; Operations Manager at The Paramount Coffee Project and Issac Martin, owner of Chew Crew Media.
